The popular instant messaging platform, WhatsApp is now rolling out a new feature called “Collections” to make shopping easier for users by placing items using categories. The Facebook-owned platform is now rolling out WhatsApp Collections Feature to small businesses around the world.
WhatsApp Collections feature Will Make Shopping Easier for People
Moreover, the new WhatsApp Collections feature essentially enables businesses to arrange items in their catalogs by category so clients won’t have to scroll through long lists of items to find what they’re searching for and can instead go directly to what they want to shop for.
For example, eateries can design collections featuring appetizers, entrees, and desserts, while an apparel store could add collections for men’s clothes, women’s clothes, shirts, pants, and more using the new WhatsApp Collections feature. Once buyers have scanned collections, they can add items to their carts and send the order to the business.
“We want to make WhatsApp the best way for people to shop for goods and services and for businesses to connect with their customers, which is why we are making it easier to see what a business offers on WhatsApp,” the company announced in a statement.
WhatsApp Rolled Out Catalogs to Act as a Mobile Storefront on the Platform
Furthermore, WhatsApp first launched “Catalogs” feature in 2019 to enable businesses to showcase their products and services to possible customers who could then scan photos and view prices. The catalogs efficiently operate as a mobile storefront on WhatsApp — and one that can be operated without the necessity for a web page at all.

WhatsApp’s Shop Feature Allows Customers to Chat with the Sellers
WhatsApp has launched numerous shopping features in recent years to expand the e-commerce experience on its app. Most recently, Facebook launched “Shops” on WhatsApp to provide customers with the choice to chat with businesses before purchasing something. Since Facebook has been expediting e-commerce on platforms like Instagram, it makes sense that it’s arranging the same for WhatsApp too.
