PM Imran Khan launched the Ehsaas Rashan program to provide support to the poor in his speech. As many as 20 million households with people who have less than Rs. 31,500 monthly income will be eligible for a subsidy of Rs. 1,000 per household per month.
The Ehsaas Rashan Program will include staple foods, including wheat flour, pulses (daal), and vegetable oil, in addition to 25% of food spending for low-income families to overcome the inflationary impact on vulnerable populations due to increasing inflation. The program costs Rs. 120 billion, which will assist lessen the impact of inflation on the most vulnerable segments of the population.
The Applicants Will Experience a Rigorous Screening Process
Similar to all other Ehsaas initiatives, registered stores and beneficiaries will experience a rigorous screening process under the program to apply online to minimize fraud. Beneficiaries will apply through a protected web portal in the Ehsaas Rashan, as with other Ehsaas initiatives. Termination of eligibility will be tested by Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), NADRA will verify family information, and CNIC-Mobile number pairs will be verified by Pakistan Mobile Number Portability Database (PMD, PTA).
Furthermore, beneficiaries who will benefit from the support will have to go through a two-factor authentication consisting of a physical CNIC verification and a one-time password assigned to the recipient on their mobile phone number.
Whereas Kiryana stores will go through all the inspections mandated by the SBP, including the CNIC verification. NADRA, SIM card authentication with PMD / PTA, and biometric verification. Moreover, Ehsaas and NBP have already tested the program in numerous cities with hundreds of beneficiaries and Kiryana stores that have participated in the Ehsaas Rashan program.
Moreover, a statement published on the support’s behalf stated that only one person per family will be able to apply for the facility. Dr. Nishtar suggested the families willing to apply to ensure that the mobile number they are providing in their applications is listed in the name of the family member who is applying for the discount. She said that only the applicants will be eligible to collect the rations on discount in case of eligibility. They will be informed about their eligibility for availing the facility via an SMS from 8171 within four weeks of registration, she added.
How to Apply for Ehsaas Rashan Program?
Follow the below-mentioned steps to participate in the program:
Step 1: Go to the Ehsaas Rashan Program web portal to complete the application form and submit it.
Step 2: Complete your details in the fields shown on the Ehsaas Rashan (Ration) website, including your name, CNIC, number of household members, full address, and mobile phone number.
Step 3: After filling in all the data, click “Submit” to complete the application for participation in the Ehsaas Rashan program.
If you do not receive a package from the program within four days, you need to SMS 4417 to inform the government. Please send SMS to 4471, MW <space> Name, address, CNIC number, phone number.
