In the recent news, TikTok has announced the launch of Creator Next, a single hub for all monetization tools, and it further outlined some updates for its current creator tools. In a post on TikTok’s newsroom, the platform reveals that alongside Creator Next, it’s also broadly introducing its tipping feature, which allows users to send money directly to their favorite creators.
Creator Next will Stop Creators from Hopping to Other Social Platforms to Earn Money
Furthermore, Creator Next is part of TikTok’s larger works to maintain creators and stop them from jumping on other platforms that pay creators, such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Snapchat. When the platform was only a year old in 2019, users struggled to find methods to earn money natively through the app, as they had to acquire deals and sponsorships outside of the app. To help change this, TikTok later launched its $200 million Creator Fund in 2020, dividing the cash to reward the platform’s most celebrated creators.
Tips is Another Feature from TikTok for Creators to Earn Money
Moreover, TikTok began testing Tips as another means for creators to make money this October, but now it seems that the feature is available to all creators who meet TikTok’s qualification specifications. The requirements involve being over the age of 18, having an account in a good position, and having 100,000 followers or more. TikTok notes that creators will acquire 100 percent of every tip and that they’ll be processed through payment service Stripe, with tippers inciting a small fee.
In addition to Creator Next, TikTok is giving more creators access to its Marketplace, a gateway where creators can discover and collaborate with business allies to make money through sponsored videos. Creators now require 10,000 followers to reach the Marketplace, as opposed to the former 100,000 follower demand.
All of these tools, including the Creator Fund, Marketplace, Live Gifts, Video Gifts, and Tips, will appear within the Creator Next portal. TikTok notes that creators must “satisfy minimum follower requirements,” which can vary depending on the area, as well as 1,000 video views within the past 30 days to use Creator Next.
