The high-speed Fuxing bullet train
The driverless Fuxing bullet train travels at speeds of 217 miles per hour and can carry 564 passengers per trip in its eight carriages. It is being put on the tracks just in time for the Beijing Games, to ferry passengers along the 108-mile journey between the Chinese capital and satellite venues in the city of Zhangjiakou.
the railway builder China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group told that the 176-kilometer railway snakes down through rivers, lakes, urban main roads, and other railways, posing complex construction challenges and risks. The rail link will shorten the current four-hour journey from Nanchang in Jiangxi to Hefei in Anhui to around two hours, boosting the railway network between provinces in Central China and serving the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
