A certain fee along with upgraded features
Musk said that he wants to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features but he also signaled that there might be a certain fee for running business and government accounts. For a few years, Twitter hasn’t been making enough money as other social media platforms so this move might serve the purpose.
Last week it was reported by a local publication that Musk had told banks that he would develop new ways to monetize tweets and crackdown on executive pay to cut down costs at the social media platform. The world’s richest man also informed the banks that he planned to develop features to grow business revenue, including new ways to make money out of tweets that contain important information or certain tweets that go viral.

Musk’s free speech narrative
Musk’s biggest interest lies in the free speech he has been vocal about it for years and his critics are a bit concerned over Musk taking over Twitter as they fear that their voice might be silenced forever just like Musk used to block them off his personal Twitter account. However, at the annual Met Gala in New York, Musk said that he would make Twitter transparent about how tweets are promoted or demoted and wanted its software to be publicly available for critique.
