Naseem Shah, Pakistani star pacer, has announced to auction his bat and donate 50 percent of the collected amount to the flood affectees of Pakistan. It is pertinent to mention here that the bat was used to hit the two consecutive winning sixes against Afghanistan that took Pakistan to the finals of the Asia Cup 2022.

The Story of Naseem Shah’s Bat
During the last over of the crucial Asia Cup game against Afghanistan, Naseem Shah was accompanied by Husnain at the non-striker’s end. The young pacer asked Husnain to give his bat to him because his bat wasn’t as good. “He asked me my bat, and I said okay, take a single, then give it back to me,” said Husnain. The lucky bat contributed to the winning cause and helped eliminate Afghanistan and India from the tournament.

In a video message, Mohammad Hasnain was seen gifting his bat to Naseem Shah, who then put it up for auctions for the flood affectees. Naseem said, ‘I will donate half of the collected amount to the flood affectees.’ Naseem’s last two sixes are compared to Javed Miandad’s famous sixes at Sharjah. Captain Babar Azam also mentioned Miandad’s famous sixes in the post-match presentation, to which Ravi Shastri – who was presenting the honours – burst into laughter and said, “I was there that day, thank you for reminding [me].”
Pakistan Cricket Team Played with Black Arm
Pakistan cricket team wore black armbands in their Sunday clash against India to express solidarity with the flood affectees of Pakistan. The PCB has also announced to donate gate earnings from the first T20I against England to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund. In a statement released by the PCB, Chairman Ramiz Raja has urged fans and followers of cricket to participate in the initiative by purchasing tickets for the first match, which is scheduled to be played at Karachi’s National Stadium on 20th September.
