Instagram is rolling out the ability to play uninterrupted stories which means that when you post a Story that’s under 60 seconds in length, it won’t be broken up into segments. Meta started testing the feature with select users last year before rolling it out globally. A spokesperson from Meta said; “Now, you’ll be able to play and create Stories continuously for up to 60 seconds, instead of being automatically cut into 15 second clips.”

Uninterrupted Stories Could be a Turn-off For Many Users

The Uninterrupted stories might not be welcomed by the users who love the short-sized videos on stories rather than going through a long-haul video. Moreover, it also makes no difference between stories and reels that are both of equal length. But, the problem only seems to aggravate as the Instagram head, Adam Mosseri, said the company would double down on video which means that it would consolidate all of its video products around Reels and the users may see the lines between Stories and Reels being blurred even further.

Instagram Reverts TikTok-like Full-screen Feed

In a bid to become more like TikTok Instagram recently rolled out the full-screen feature in the feed that ended up getting a lot of criticism due to which the decision was reversed. Adam said that the company will phase out a test that turned users’ home feeds into a TikTok-like full-screen experience. The change came as the users showed extreme frustration over the app’s gradual transition from being a place where users could mainly see photos of their friends and family into an app that’s filled with recommended posts and videos. Even Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, expressed their frustrations saying; “Stop trying to be tiktok I just want to see cute photos of my friends.”
