Mr. Suh Sangpyo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, met with Syed Amin Ul Haque, Federal Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications, on Wednesday.
The Korean Ambassador was welcomed into the office of the Federal Minister of Information Technology, where they discussed issues of common interest as well as IT and telecommunications.
Both parties agreed to extend their cooperation in information technology and telecommunications.
Syed Amin Ul Haque, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information Technology, said that Pakistan values its ties with the Republic of Korea. He mentioned that the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications is taking measures toward digitalization. Pakistan’s IT and telecommunications industry is accelerating constantly.
Pakistan wants to learn from Korea’s experience in the field of information technology, he said. Furthermore, Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Information Technology urged Korea to provide Pakistan with mobile manufacturing and assembling.

He stated that Korean IT and telecom companies can invest in Pakistan because the environment for foreign investment in Pakistan is favorable.
The Federal Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications, Amin Ul Haque, claimed that his ministry is committed to providing telecom services around the world, including in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan (GB).
He also stressed the importance of IT professionals and startups exchanging ideas between the two countries. The Korean Ambassador stated on several occasions that his country wished to create a knowledge excess center in Pakistan.
He also praised the IT Ministry’s efforts to promote information and communication technology in the region. The senior officers from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications also showed up for the meeting.
