After the government’s efforts for the cause of digitization of Pakistan, finally Amazon has gone live for Pakistan and has officially added Pakistan to the approved seller’s list.
Previously, Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood highlighted that the course of e-commerce had expedited in recent years with the advancement and easy convenience of the internet. He further added that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the significance of e-commerce had enhanced manifold, making it a notably important division of the economy.

Moreover, he also highlighted, “It is a great opportunity for our youth, SMEs and women entrepreneurs. An important milestone of e-Commerce policy achieved has been through teamwork by many people across the globe,” he added.
Furthermore, Shahbaz Gil, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister has stated that Amazon has now included Pakistan in its list of sellers which will now allow Pakistan to enter the international market. This will result in billions in investment and generate employment opportunities, in a Twitter post.

In addition to it, a webinar was also arranged by the Consulate General of Pakistan, Los Angeles, and the Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan with senior officials of a few Pakistani firms. Omar Gajial, a former senior executive of Amazon, shared with the members what kind of possibilities will be possible for Pakistani businesses to sell their products on Amazon.
