The new dark mode of Clubhouse features a velvety dark background instead of a pitch black background like other social apps.

The clubhouse has rolled out dark mode for its Android and iOS application. The company said in a blogpost; “We’ve heard your pleas. We’ve spotted your tweets. We’ve seen your hacked-together solutions and mocked up versions of the UI of your dreams. And while it might have taken us longer than what would be considered “fast” or “reasonable” or “at all acceptable by human standards,” the wait is finally over. Today, we’re beginning to roll out Clubhouse dark mode in all of its moody, non-blinding-you-at-3-am glory.”

Velvety dark background

The new mode of Clubhouse features a velvety dark background instead of a pitch black background like other social apps. The background is accompanied by light text to match the aura and aesthetics. The company says the update may take a couple of days to roll out to all Clubhouse users. You’ll need to have the latest version of Clubhouse installed on your phone to get access to the new mode setting.

The launch of the new model came right after Clubhouse announced a new in-room gaming test that gives users a card game that presents a series of questions that are designed to spur conversation and help people get to know each other better. As initial testing, the company launched a game called Wild Cards. To start a game on Clubhouse, you have to click the “+Rooms” button and then select the “Games” option.

How to turn on Clubhouse’s dark mode setting

The black mode offers numerous advantages apart from saving your battery, it also reduces blue rays emission that is great for the visually impaired and people with light sensitivity. However, you can follow these simple steps to switch to the dark mode:

  • Open the Clubhouse app
  • Go to the Settings option on the app
  • Then select the option of “Always Dark” or “User Device Settings.”
  • Users can choose to enable dark mode based on device settings or simply let dark mode always be enabled
