The first freelance information technology (IT) hub worth Rs35 million has been established in Rawalpindi and its auction for rent will be held on March 10.
As per the information released, they said IT hub has occupied a working area of 1,700 square feet, which consists of four meeting halls, two group discussion rooms, a daycare center, and a cafeteria. The building further includes a space for a restaurant on the rooftop of the building and a parking area for 40 vehicles.
It was informed at the conference that the recently established freelance IT hub behind Moti Mahal Cinema, Murree Road, will develop the information and technology industry, and create employment for the young generation in the country.

This was declared at a meeting of Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) with Commissioner retired Capt. Mohammad Mehmood in the chair. The conference was also graced by Chief Metropolitan Officer Ali Abbas Bukhari and others.
The commissioner stated the primary purpose of the establishment of the IT hub was to accommodate a contributory workplace for freelance growing IT workers and students.
“It will provide domestic and foreign companies with the best and trendy workforce as well as a better environment where they will be able to set up their offices,” stated the commissioner
He further said those obtaining the freelance hub on a lease will be supplied with daily, weekly, and monthly rental workspaces with round-the-clock power supply and high-speed internet facility. He suggested the RMC to provide a yearly verification statement to evaluate the performance of the leasing firm.
