Internet services face problems across the country, with the watchdog organization NetBlocks confirming a severe reduction in national connectivity. According to NetBlocks, the country’s internet connectivity plummeted to 24% of its usual levels, corroborating the widespread reports from users. The organization’s real-time monitoring indicated an unusual drop, indicating a major disruption across the nation.
PTA Blames PTCL
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) quickly addressed the situation, attributing the disruptions to a fault within the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) network. In its statement, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority laid the blame on Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), saying that “some fault” caused internet services “in some parts of the country” to suffer “to some extent”.
