Islamabad police have introduced a high-tech ‘E-Police Desk’ system for the filing of complaints without any human intercommunication and to get them resolved through immediate response.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman formally inaugurated the e-police desk in Super Market. DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar, SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer, SP City Zone, major personalities of the area, and media personnel were similarly present at the event.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the IGP announced that now the citizens could lodge a complaint without visiting a police station. He appended that the police of Islamabad is among the first ones to introduce the system in the nation implemented with advanced technology.
He further stated that the nationals can benefit from this system as now they are not required to visit the police stations for the registration of the complaints.
In case of any unfortunate incident or mishap, the citizens can lodge reports, as there will be a police call center, and the staff would contact them for urgent redressal and to further guide them.
He said on receiving the complaint, the personnel on duty would address the complainant within a short span of time to redress this problem. The IGP told that visitors from other cities were also permitted to use the facility. A feedback feature is also made the part of the machine, which would assist the police department in bringing reforms.
He also informed that similar pickets comprising of e-police desks will be soon established throughout the district and the citizens can easily file their complaints. In order to register their complaints, the citizens would be asked to scan their respective NICs and enter the NIC number on this system. The IGP further appreciated the significant role of the IT department of the ICT police.
He announced that the Islamabad police were committed to helping citizens and additional such measures would be considered in the future.
