Islamabad is set to embrace New York-Style Digital Ads, transforming its advertising industry with modern digital billboards inspired by the iconic Times Square. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to replace traditional advertising methods with these advanced digital boards across the city. This initiative is expected to modernize the city’s advertising infrastructure under the new Advertisement Policy 2024.
New York-Style Digital Ads to Modernize Islamabad
The decision to introduce New York-Style Digital Ads was made during a meeting led by CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting, which included senior officials and relevant officers, focused on reviewing and finalizing the Advertisement Policy 2024.
The new policy aims to update the city’s advertising methods by incorporating digital boards along highways, major avenues, commercial zones, and bus stops. The shift to digital advertising is expected to significantly enhance the visual appeal and effectiveness of advertisements in Islamabad.
Other Beautification Projects
In addition to the introduction of digital ads, Islamabad is also beginning a series of beautification projects in collaboration with experts from Baku. The initiative follows a memorandum of understanding (MoU) focused on enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the Pakistani capital. A team of horticulture experts from Baku has already begun work on renovating and landscaping key areas, including Srinagar Highway, Shakarparian, Saidpur Village, and Melody Food Park.
During the meeting, CDA Chairman Randhawa emphasized the importance of using eco-friendly materials for the digital advertisements. He also noted that digital advertising will extend to public transport and pedestrian bridges, ensuring widespread visibility. The revenue generated from these digital ads will be reinvested into the city’s upkeep and beautification projects, further contributing to Islamabad’s modernization and appeal.
