The iPhone 5C has ditched the metal body that has been used in the iPhone 5S and Apple’s latest flagships, instead, it opted for a bright, plastic body. The 5C is about colour, first and foremost. It comes in green, blue, yellow, pink, and white, a palette that feels very inspired, the glossy finish feels deep and lasting; even the volume controls, mute button, and sleep/wake switch is the same colour, giving the phone an interesting semi-monochrome look.
The FaceTime camera clicks 1.2-megapixel images and has improved low-light abilities for those all-important selfies, while the rear camera has an 8-megapixel shooter. At 124.4 x 59.2 x 8.97mm the iPhone 5C is slightly chunkier packed with a larger battery. The famous home key – the only navigational aid – is placed on the front of the device, while the power/lock resides at the top and the separated volume keys on the left. Joining the left aligned headphone jack on the base of the iPhone is a centralised lightning port and a mono speaker to one side.
