A tech company, Promobot, is set to launch a new line of human-looking robots, but they want them to have a friendly face. The European robot company said in a press release that it is willing to pay $280,000 to someone for the right to use their face forever. Promobot is accepting applications from all races and genders as its new clients want to launch a large-scale project, and as for this, they need to license a new robot appearance to avoid legal delay.

Requirements of Promobot’s human-looking robots
The company said that it is looking for a 25 years old nice and friendly human face. Upon selection, a 3D model of the applicant’s face and body will be taken for the robot’s external features. Additionally, the selected candidate will be required to dictate at least 100 hours of material so that the machine can mimic his voice for communication with customers.
Promobot plans to launch its human-looking robots in hotels, shopping centres, and airports in North America and the Middle East by 2023. As stated by the tech firm, “Our company is developing technologies in the field of facial recognition, as well speech, autonomous navigation, artificial intelligence and other areas of robotics. Since 2019, we have been actively manufacturing and supplying humanoid robots to the market.”
Promobot’s functioning area
Currently, Promobot’s main products are the V.4 robot, which works at airports, universities, cinemas, museums, shopping centres, as well as humanoid droid Robo-C, which is also used in crowded areas such as museums and shopping malls. While the company could have used a computer-generated created face, having an actual human to lend their features for the newest batch of machines would make them appear more lifelike. Hence the requirement for a ‘kind and friendly face.
