The Sindh High Court (SHC) recently approved the bail application of Natasha Danish, the suspect involved in the tragic Karsaz accident. Natasha, who had been arrested after her vehicle hit multiple motorcycles and another car, killing two people on Karsaz Road, was granted bail in a drug case against surety bonds worth Rs1 million.
Karsaz Accident: Bail Granted After Rejection in Lower Courts
Natasha Danish, involved in the Karsaz accident that resulted in the deaths of a father and daughter, initially faced manslaughter charges and was granted bail after the victims’ family pardoned her. However, she had also been facing a separate case related to drug charges after reports indicated she was under the influence of methamphetamine during the accident. Despite the rejection of her bail plea twice in lower courts, Natasha’s legal team approached the SHC for relief. The SHC approved her bail after hearing arguments from both sides, with her lawyer arguing that the medical evidence was not conclusive enough.
Controversy Surrounding Drug Test Results
The prosecution argued that Natasha was under the influence of narcotics, citing the presence of methamphetamine in her urine. However, her defense team countered that the medical report did not specify the quantity of the drug, and that the presence of such substances might have been the result of prescribed medication due to her psychiatric treatment. The conflicting interpretations of the medical reports played a notable role in the court’s deliberation before ultimately granting bail.
