A deadly explosion near Karachi airport claimed the lives of three foreign nationals, leaving 17 others injured. The blast, which occurred close to Jinnah International Airport, is suspected to have been triggered by an improvised explosive device (IED). The explosion was powerful enough to be heard in multiple parts of the city, causing widespread panic as thick clouds of smoke engulfed the area. As per recent reports, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the explosion.

According to initial reports from local authorities, the explosion near Karachi airport took place at a traffic signal, where an oil tanker is believed to have blown up. The blast set multiple vehicles ablaze, worsening the chaos. Rescue teams quickly arrived on the scene, providing emergency medical care and transporting the injured to Jinnah Hospital. Law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion, with police officials suggesting that it could have been an IED strike. Malir Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) confirmed the severity of the incident, further intensifying security concerns around the airport area.
Investigation Underway Amid Safety Concerns
Following the incident, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah ordered a full investigation, requesting a detailed report from Malir SSP. Authorities have started reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to determine the nature of the explosion. Meanwhile, the injured are receiving medical attention at Jinnah Hospital, with officials emphasizing the need for improved safety protocols. The Chief Minister has also directed that no roads leading to the airport should be blocked, ensuring the flow of traffic while emergency services continue their efforts.
