Twitter’s Increased Character Limit to Turn Micro-blogging Platform Into a Blog
The increased limit of 10,000 characters makes around 2,000 words which is perfect for people who are willing to start a blog on Twitter and earn money from it. Twitter has also rebranded “Super Follows” as “Subscriptions,” allowing users to charge people $3, $5, and $10 a month for exclusive content, including subscriber-only chats in Spaces.
In 2017, Twitter increased the character limit from 140 to 280 which the CEO, Jack Dorsey, described as a small change but a big move for the company. However, the recent change is a significant increase from the previous limit of 280 characters, as Elon Musk previously hinted that Twitter would allow long-form tweets up to 10k characters in the future.
