The UAE announces 5-year visa for Pakistanis, marking a new chapter in travel and cooperation between the two nations. The announcement was made during UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi’s recent visit to Karachi, where he confirmed that all previous visa-related challenges had been resolved. This long-term visa policy is expected to strengthen people-to-people ties and encourage greater economic, cultural, and social exchange.

The official announcement came during a meeting between UAE Ambassador Al Zaabi and Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori at the Governor House in Karachi. Accompanied by UAE Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi, the ambassador shared that the new visa policy is part of an effort to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE. Ambassador Al Zaabi also extended an invitation to visit the newly established UAE visa center in Karachi, underlining the importance of facilitating smoother and faster visa processes for Pakistani citizens.

Visa Requirements

The 5-year visa will require applicants to submit a round-trip ticket, confirmed hotel booking, proof of property ownership (if applicable), and a refundable AED 3,000 security deposit; this move follows recent clarifications from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which stated that there had been no official visa ban but rather increased scrutiny due to issues such as forged documents and overstays. Governor Tessori lauded the UAE’s continued support and investment in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh, calling the visa decision a promising step towards stronger regional ties and development.
