Whatsapp is working on a chat filtering feature for standard accounts after its successful launch in the business accounts. The chat filtering feature will help the user easily find specific conversations or discussions.
WhatsApp’s chat filtering feature
As per the WhatsApp update tracker, WABetaInfo; “WhatsApp is making it easier to search for unread chats, contacts, non-contacts, and groups. The standard WhatsApp accounts will also be able to use the same feature in a future update of the app, but there is another difference: the filter button will be always visible even when you are not searching for chats and messages.” Although, the chat filtering feature looks like a small update but it becomes a handy tool when someone is in rush and needs instant search results for certain chats.
WABetaInfo shared a screenshot from a WhatsApp business account where the filter button was available right above the chatbox and the WhatsApp update tracker website stated that the filter button will be visible in the top app bar for standard accounts as well, from where you’ll be able to refine which chats are shown as per your preference. WABetainfo reported that the chat filtering feature is under development for standard WhatsApp accounts and it will be released in a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop.
A new shortcut button
WhatsApp is also working on a new message reply shortcut feature. Currently, users can reply to a message in a chat thread by following two different methods: by selecting “Reply” right within the message options, or by tapping twice the message row. But, the third method – message reply shortcut – will be even faster than before. You can send the reply by simply clicking the shortcut once, instead of twice. The new shortcut button is placed next to the reaction button.
