WhatsApp is working on a future update, Voice Status, which will let users record and upload voice messages to their WhatsApp status. According to WABetaInfo; “We can finally announce that WhatsApp is planning to extend the functionality of statuses updates by adding the support for voice notes. A voice note shared as a status update may be called voice status.”
Voice Status Feature to Soon Enter Beta Testing
The new feature will let users share important updates with sound cues. It will be end-to-end encrypted just like other media files on WhatsApp and have the same privacy settings just like the current ones. The feature is currently under testing and it will soon be released to the beta testers before it finally rolls out to the public.
WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot of the upcoming feature, where we can see a dedicated mic button will pop up when you add new Status updates. This button will let you switch to Voice Status and record the voice note to be shared. The Whatsapp news tracker website said that the voice note will only be shared with the people you choose within your personalized privacy settings.

WhatsApp to Release ‘Quick Reply’ Feature
WhatsApp is working on ‘Quick Replies’ feature that will enable users to respond to messages that they have received in the app without actually opening the app. In order to open the quick replies dialog box, WhatsApp users will be tapping the three-dots menu that will appear right next to the Open button which, in turn, lets them respond to the message in a short and crisp manner.
